They can frame AI as a cost to control or as a skill to cultivate. Those who choose the latter will build teams that understand how to use AI to amplify their expertise rather than replace it. As the job market shifts toward AI fluency, the gap between employees who are allowed to explore and those who are not will widen. The smartest organizations will recognize that an AI budget is not an expense. It is the new form of professional development.
